‘You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling'

On this episode of Follow the Sound, we get into some more music history. The show kicks off with the rise of the Righteous Brothers and their Phil Spector-produced song, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'. And, we talk about the band's impact on music as a whole with their blue-eyed soul. We also discuss The Beatles flying to America for the first time and being greeted by thousands of fans. In 1994, the British band Oasis was forced to cancel their first foreign tour due to the band being involved in a drunken brawl on a cross-channel ferry. We get into several Beatles events that all happened on February 9th. February 9th saw several events involving the Beatles, including their first performance at the Cavern Club, an incredible debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, and the premier of Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields on Top of the Pops. And finally, we talk about Glenn Miller and his Orchestra being awarded the first ever gold record for their hit song, Chattanooga Choo Choo. We close out the show with a little talk about number 1 hits of the past and celebrity birthdays. Join us for this episode of Follow the Sound!
