Album Review

Audioslave was a supergroup comprised of Chris Cornell, and Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk. Their debut album showcased each of their superb talents in a way that demanded attention. Chris Cornell's lyrics are poetic and powerful. His voice cries out through the music with raw emotion that cemented the band in rock history. Tom Morello's guitar playing and orchestration brought new and unique sounds to the album that only the brilliance of Morello could achieve. Tim Commerford's bass hammers hard in the background and floats around the melodies. And Brad Wilk just simply rocks with precision in percussion. The album should stand out in rock history as one of the hardest-hitting albums of our age.

Also, we here at Follow the Sound want to send our thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of Chris Cornell as they deal with this hard time. The world can feel the loss of this great talent, but the combined loss felt by his fans pales in comparison to the loss of a husband and father.

Album Review

The Who were already a well-established hit in the music world before Who's Next landed in 1971. However, after Pete Townsend gave up working on a science fiction rock opera called Lifehouse, he set out to write an album that sounded like nothing else out there yet still maintained that “Who” sound. What Townsend, Daltrey, Entwistle, and Moon created was a masterpiece that will stand for a long time as one of the best albums ever made! We hope you enjoy our review of Who's Next by The Who.

Album Review

(WARNING: Explicit Lyrics)

Permission to Land is the debut album of The Darkness. The entire album is a blast in the face from beginning to end. The guitar, bass, and drums combine to create a wall of rock music that can only be rivaled but not surpassed. And Justin Hawkins' vocals should go down in history as one of the best rock falsetto voices. This combined with the band's ability to write catchy tunes, and have fun while doing it, makes them a true force in rock music. Sadly, the band never achieved greater success than this album. However, Permission to Land is still a great example of pure rock n roll.

Boy & Bear is an indie folk-rock band from Australia. Their layering of music, combined with elegant and moving lyrics, gives them a sound that is both emotional and calming. On Harlequin Dream, the band flows seamlessly through each song with the grace and precision of seasoned songwriters. Each aspect of the album tells a story that can be interpreted in several ways. For some, it's country and folk. For others, it's rock in the vein of early Fleetwood Mac. Either way, you should listen to this band!
